KL Climbing Ability
Has anyone tested the KLs Ability to climb ? i tested mine on a rock/clay climb.. If not,YOU SHOULD!!
it was steep, My stock 08 JK didnt make this hill in low..
however My lil TrailHawk broke traction , i kept it on the incline brakes applied.. switched to low/locked lockers/rock mode
it barely spun, hooked up and went up.. felt the front end get very light at the steering wheel.. buhahahha.. impressive.

This little Jeep is a lot tougher than many Jeep enthusiasts give it credit for. I've personally had good off road experience with it and have averaged up to 30 mpg (V6 TH). I found these videos on tests done on the KL line and they show it doing some things I would be afraid to do. And that's stock...

Out of curiosity, do you know how steep the climb was?

Interesting that the rear wheel that is lifted, assuming the rear diff is locked electronically, yet it doesn't rotate......

With enough proper care they should be just fine. I have a 17 year old XJ that have had to put plenty of blood, sweat, and tears into to keep it running good. I guess only time will tell.
As for the rear wheel not spinning, one of the features of the computer is to recognise when a tire isn't getting traction. It then shifts the power to the ones that are.

almost as steep as the forward slash / sign.. and one of those if you break traction prepare to come off fast backwards, or flip down a ditch ..
and the video does not do its climbing ability justice..
i didnt think it would do it.

He didn't air down, didn't use hill-descent mode (because it was "too slow", lol), he did use 4h instead of low and he did use mud/sand terrain. That hill appeared to be neither mud nor sand. This video is a perfect example of how not to drive down a hill.
