I think a lot of stuff looks weird at first, then it grows on you, then one day it looks normal. I think that's how the KL will be in a couple of years.

I've noticed that about a lot of vehicles as well. Like the new Chrysler 300... I couldn't believe they changed the body style when they redesigned it in 2012 or whenever that was. But now I think it looks awesome.

I remember back in 94 when the new ram came out. Lots of folks didn't like the style.

Same can be said for when they re-designed in 2002. Sometimes change is rejected simply because it's change.

It's a dodge dart with a pentastar and some fancy lockers. Is it a Jeep? Yes. does it deserve to be called a Jeep? Probably. Is it a Cherokee? Only Technically. Does it deserve to be called a Cherokee? Probably not.

I'm all for tolerance and respecting other people's opinions but the styling bears little to no resemblance to the XJ or any other cherokee for that matter. Fix it again tony corporation decided to completely abandon any design cues other than the 7 slots in the grille and just basically carbon copied the dart. You have the right to your opinions and I have the right to disagree with them. And I eagerly await the ban I'm going to get for this since cruiser will probably tell me I'm a pain in his butt etc etc.

If only the Jeep engineers had the mindset they do now back in the XJ days, an XJ trailhawk would have been pretty cool. Lockers, mild lift, good tow points all from the factory, that would have sold like hotcakes.

I have no respect for any car connected to the Internet that can get hacked into.

I don't care if the most recent hack was fixed, hackers will find another way in. People can die because of it.

Thanks...was feeling a little down today and needed a laugh. Has to be one of the funniest things I have read in a while. 2 guys have access to a single jeep with a single cell phone carrier, and spent over a year trying to "hack" the Uconnect system and you act like there is a high risk. Did I mention these guys were also security professionals who know these systems and how to code? It has NEVER been hacked in the wild by anyone. I am sorry but if hackers can break into extremely secure organizations like NASA, I am afraid that if they take the time to find the vulnerabilities, they can hack into anywhere. This is the direction for all automakers and ANYTHING connected to the Internet IS vulnerable and always will be. Any security professional knows that the only computer that can be secure is one that is not connected to a network, period. I have been in IT for 35 years so this was no surprise because the Uconnect system is the most connected auto system on the market. Because it's so new, these things will happen but what's important is Jeep and others did the right thing and were all over it and immediately had a fix. Before this issue was even announced, Sprint had the issue addressed using encryption in their network so it could no longer be hacked...at least using the identified vulnerability.

By the way - I love my Cherokee Trailhawk and all the technology it has . It is simply awesome!

... the uconnect can work in stand alone configuration and nothing should be able to access the gas or brakes other than the driver.. a shared power source is all the mother computer and the uconnect should share.. matter of fact it should be law that a vehicle cant be taken over remotely..

I'm right there with you Hawkmandan and have stated the same myself previously. And like you, I'm also lovin my 2015 TH. I don't have the bells and whistles like the lane departure, rain sensing wipers, adapative cruise, wiper deicer and such. But it blows away the 2015 Ford Escape Titanium I had ... in looks and is 4 wheel capability. I haven't taken it rock climbing yet, but I'm getting there.

when you do go hit some rocks.. you will be extremely impressed... on man.. i had a wheel up in the air going up some steps, (wasnt locked) came to a halt, and spun the tire a lil bit, mind you all i could see was stars in the sky..
well... i hit rock mode and locked em in.. and it felt like it stuttered for a second thought about it.. then launched up and over this climb, skids scraping skreeeeetch!! o it was beautiful!! just feeling those rear lockers kick was very nice.. youll see when you get on the rocks.. its Uberbadass!

I just hope that Metal's reply here is indicative of all his troubles. Personally I have no intentions of rock climbing, scraping the pan, etc. and hope that my brand new Cherokee remains trouble free. That said, I have read all the reports calling the 9 speed a POS and the like and was wondering if there is anyone out there that has had a trouble free KL Cherokee? Please don't hesitate to chime in.

7800 miles on the 2015 TH and nary one problem yet. Unless you want to count the firmware upgrade I did myself to keep the hackers pissed.

I have to laugh at all the people out there who slam the Cherokee due to two guys who spent two years of their lives, along with Chrysler engineers, showing they could take over the car. Makes me wonder why those people have computers. Those are FAR EASIER to hack by any teenager. And then they have access to all your important info.

I'm not too concerned about someone wanting to take over my car. And besides, now that little concern has been taken care of. Yeah, maybe Chrysler engineers should have thought it out a bit better. But there's always going to be bad people trying to screw with us good people. Frankly, that's why I have a concealed carry permit.

Anyway, 99% happy with my TH. My only gripe is when I have the cruise on and I'm going down a steep hill. When it comes out of the downhill run, the tranny shifts up to lose speed, then down to gain speed, then back up again like it can't figure out how to maintain the speed. No biggie ... just a bit annoying since I go down that hill about every day.

Looking forward to Iowa winter to see how well the 4X4 system handles snow.

Now that's what I like to hear. And we have some dandy mountain passes around here with 10 mile up and downhills where I have noticed the tranny gearing down to slow down. Seems to work well for me. Interesting in the manual mode it will not drop into your selected gear if it is going to rev like crazy. Built in protection, I guess.

lmao...nO! i have hit a moderate trail twice one a stock vehicle can clear and got no dents , and the transmission was being silly prior, however, we thought it needed to program itself to act right.. not the case, and youll see, it does not take much of an angle to lift a tire IF you take it offroad.. a knee high drop off will raise the back tire visa versa...
its been such a head ache and broke down on me on the highway, (in a 35 mph zone in Pound Virginia to be exact) nothing with a trail rated badge should have troubles anyway on a trail. it was nothing like the rubicon trail or th moab like on the advertisements thats for sure, electronic issues out the kulu, bad shifting all the time, i had a new engine installed at 4k the popping noise may be the darn motor mounts..
i have 5 recalls laying on my desk that speaks for itself... and yes sir, the transmission is not up to par.. it could be however, when the active drive II lock works, it great. however that is being trumped by all the issues, take time look at other forums youll see.. and remember not all jeep owners with issues get on forums.. its bad.. and... the customer care rep assigned to my case is jumping through hoops trying to assist in making right, and they should..
body wise, my rides in excellent condition.. no abuse.. if that is what you was thinking.. and i bought a trail rated 4x4 it should jeep like they advertised. thats wurd..

also, no one would be WORKING MY CASE IF I BROUGHT IN A VEHICLE THAT LOOKED LIKE A STOMPED CAN!!!!!!!
