Default Exactly What is Active Drive Doing?

Can anyone point me to a source that really tells exactly what is going on with Active Drive II or Active Drive Low? or Lock?

I have a 2015 Trailhawk. Love it by the way. But I'm trying to figure out what it really does in the different settings. I've watched the youtube videos and read the manual, and read several forums, but it's all kinda vague.

I've read that unless you're in 4-low, it's ALWAYS front-wheel-drive unless you lose traction, and then it brings the rear wheels into play. But the youtube video seems to indicate that in "sport" mode, there is a 40-60 front-rear torque split. So, can't help but wonder - which is it? Is it front-wheel only, and then if I lose traction, immediately 60% torque goes to the rear? Or is it really always in 4 with 40-60 split? Can't find a clear answer. Anyone know?
