Details, please about 4 versus 6. I haven't had a chance to drive a 6 yet.
How'd ya do the towhook?

Don't ask how he did the tow hook unless you want to be very jealous and realize there is no way an average person could do it!

Added the hitch receiver after the fact, didn't have the tow package.
Take off fascia plastic, remove steel bumper. Plasma cutter and welding. App six hours for two people.
Definitely doable with the right tools. Without, don't bother.

Saw my first KL today, parked ~1/2-mile from my house. It's 3-miles of dirt road with a fairly deep stream crossing so he was "off-road". After a multi-mile hike I wasn't interested in stopping and looking. Still like my XJ better, too much chrome on the KL grill.
Previous visit to dealer, when I said Cherokee, he pointed to a Grand. Wouldn't own one of those pigs.

Cruiser,
I took the 3.2 for a test drive locally when my WK was in for a few updates. I was VERY impressed with the overall Cherokee. It was roomy (except for storage behind the back seat) for the front and rear passengers. There is a cavernous amount of space under the rear carpet where the spare goes. I would love to have a big sub system hidden under the floor out of sight so I could have all the room. I took it out for a ride in snow covered roads and it handled MUCH better than my XJ and you all probably knew that already. The traction control and such worked beautifully so you didn't get out of shape. I was impressed with the V6 power, it revved smoothly not harsh like the old 4.0L. The trans shifted smooth and often as expected since there is 9 forward gears. I have heard that 9th is really never used, but that doesn't bother me. Maybe if you lived in AZ on a nice flat desolate road you might get that cog to latch.
I sat in the back seat and the front, opened the rear hatch and poked around and I really wanted to take one home. I didn't, however test the one with the upgraded sound system with the 8" screen. The heated seat and steering wheel comes on anytime it's under 40 degrees automatically. You can adjust the automatic settings via the dash mounted touch screen. They will also burn your behind so they are very good. If we were to have two incomes again I would love to have a WK overland summit and a KL trailhawk in my garage along with my Grand Prix GTP and Comanche for summer fun as always.
