Owning a Jeep means ****ty mileage. It's a trade off for being able to do things other vehicles can't. Don't know how else to explain it.

Never said it would be easy...but that's how you do it. Probably works better for people in the midwest

Lighttoast, I wasn't poking fun at you. You're right: the more efficiently you can drive, the better it shows on the TH. I know mine does--but unfortunately, it's tough to get to highway speeds in my case.

Default 2016 Cherokee TR- new Jeep Owner

I bought my wife one in Oct last year and then she bought me one in Feb. We have never owned a Jeep before, family swears by them. We love them, first oil changed and dealer updated software for the tranny. Seemed to do the trick here in WV with hills. The only issue we have had, is the satellite radio cuts out quite a bit, especially going through areas with trees.

Just picked up 2016 TH yesterday. Headlights suck in the rural mountains of Colorado. I blew right threw a stop sign on a back paved road last night at speed limit of 40mph. It didn't get lit up by the headlights until I was within 20' of it. The TH won't stop at 40mph in 20'. Lucky for me there was no cross traffic. The peripheral lighting is even worse. Our Mule deer are as big as cattle, and you need to see them or a car on the side of the road for safety.
I called Jeep and have a case number, we will see what happens.
The problem is the recessed lights with the bezel restricts the beam. You literally see an abrupt line at the top of the beam where it cuts out. On the Grand Cherokee the lights are in the same housing, but are brought to the front of the lens cover. This solves the problem.
In the city the lights are not an issue, in the country, or on a rolling hwy at speeds of 75mph they are a potential death trap.

Does the line go away when you use the high beams? You don't say under which this line appears.

I just picked up a 2017 Trailhawk last Friday. Traded in my 2012 JK (2-door) for the Trailhawk simply for the comfort factor. I can't wait for the snow to fall so I can test out the snow mode.

Any other Trailhawk owners out there care to share their experiences in snow? I live along Lake Michigan and we get plenty of snow.

Bought a new 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk V6 on Tuesday and new the Jeep community. Absolutely loved everything about it until I suddenly started having issues …
Loss of power steering
Service shifter warning
Auto stop/start unavailable-Service auto stop/start warning
Battery Light
Traction control light on/off and beeping
Strange plastic or rubber burning smell
Display and ambient lighting flashing on and off/ headlights and cabin lights dimming/pulsing
All of this happened randomly over the past couple days. I brought into the dealership this morning and as I was about to pull up the TH made a loud wirring noise and gave me a Trans error message shut down the vehicle and said to reset system with the car off. Very nervous and upset with what this could mean.
Any insights/comments/suggestions are welcome. Thank you

I also live near the Lake, and we get a fair amount of snow on the West side of it (not as much as the East side though). I've frequently put mine into Snow Mode, and basically the vehicle keeps you in second gear when idling, rather than dropping to first. As a result, your wheels don't spin as much as you might expect and you get up and moving right away.

The tires are very good for snow.

I've taken mine onto deeper snow areas over rough ground (snow-buried gravel and rock at construction sites) and it handled quick turns extremely well, with only a little engagement of all four wheels.

I haven't taken her out in anything deeper than a foot, though. We had a couple of milder winters.

Sounds (especially based on your smell comment) like a harness melted and things are shorting and/or grounding...
