Default 2016 Jeep Cherokee compact (donut) spare

Has anyone found a good resource for buying a compact spare for this car? I believe it should be a T125/90-D18. I have a full size spare but, the compact spare should = less weight, i.e., better gas mileage. Standard tire/wheel size is 225/55-r18. Thanks JC

I prefer the full size. The weight savings won't give you too much more milage.

I understand, but 90% of my driving is in town, with a few 200 mile trips during the year, therefore the gas is a bigger concern for me, and I can easily come home and install the full size spare quickly w/my floor jack, etc. Thanks for the response JC

You're worried about saving 10lb of sprung weight by opting for a space saver? Not worth it at all. Drive like a grandma, and keep up with maintenance if fuel economy is your primary concern. Run some lightweight alloys and low rolling resistance tires if you want to get meticulous.

I'd spend my money on a gym membership to lose 10lb off myself long before I buy a donut spare.

Thanks TRCM, the rest of these guys know there Jeeps, and they are right when going to the max off road to use and enjoy. Any friendly advice is welcome, no put downs for my ride. See you on an Autocross or Pro-Solo run any day.JC

Yeah as long as there's enough space you should be able to fit a full-sizer under the floor, but maybe not an alloy rim... I know the Trailhawk includes a full-size spare from the factory.
