Hey all, looking at purchasing a 2016 Cherokee Limited for the fiance, any major problems to look out for? I've had plenty of original Cherokees that I loved to death so I hope to not be disappointed. I've seen some bad reviews on the transmission. It would be a limited, FWD, 4 CYL. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Also, I would like to have a leveling kit on the front (to kind of give it the look of a trailhawk). Is there anything available? Thank you for any info,

I just bought a 2016 Trailhawk. I have had it for about a month. Transmission definitely needs refining. The issues that I have had with the transmission is hard shifts in lower gears and slight but noticeable acceleration when downshifting. But I have also experienced both of these problems in my wife's GMC Terrain.

Due to the 948TE (trans.) having issues when the KL was first unveiled, it delayed the "on-sale" date by a few months... I'd assume that the 948TE could still have issues, being that it's electronically-controlled... the 8HPxx transmission (where -xx is a placeholder for the last two digits of the model number of the transmission depending on which engine it's mated to) still has issues, so I'd assume the transmission issues are something to watch out for, pretty much on all newer FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Alliance) vehicles with the new electronically-controlled "Torq-Flite 8" transmissions. My boss has a '14 RAM 1500 with the HEMI and the rotary shifter and he says it's been giving him intermittent issues.

I have 8.5k on my 2016 Trailhawk and I have no issues with the transmission. like many cars it depends on how you drive it. With 9 speeds and 5 of them shifting between 0-35mph you will at times notice a shift but hardly an issue. When in the city I use the select shift and upshift to either 3 or 5th gear and leave it there. I love that feature and use it often. I sometimes think that the "tranny" issue takes on a life of its own and makes undo focus and critique. Sure, there were issues but honestly I don't think they exist in the 2016. I drove 7 different TH's and all were fine.
