That's in a v6 trailhawk. So yes, I do see a vast improvement over my XJ which saw 23 (averaged 17-18) at best when it was stock.
thats not bad at all. these things are heavy too.

Now these are some cool numbers! Glad to here the epa numbers werent just pulled out of thin air. My grandparents owned my xj before me and took it to canada a few times they said they got 26 mpg a couple times. Im assuming thats at perfect flat roads, etc.

Could be that they were using imperial MPG and not US MPG, that works out to 26.42 MPG because the imperial gallon is slightly larger

I don't thing the KL/XJ compression will ever happen, mainly because the chances of finding a bone stock, like new Up Country would be darn near impossible, and if one was ever found there is no doubt that the owner would not take it wheeling

Same here: V6 Trailhawk, averaging 22.5-23 on the roads, and 25 on the highway.

I would love to see a non bias side by side of the new and old Cherokees. I am on the old style side of the fence, but it is all because of the looks, not because I think XJs are better than the KLs. The KL should be the better machine just because of the 13 years of technology advances. Just think in 13+ years people will be saying the KL is better than the 2027 Cherokee and the old XJs will just be faded and rusted memories

before i purchased mine.. and tested it.. i thought the same thing.. "wonder if it will go? will it be as good as my xj was? i cant say for sure its better.. but so far its not falling short in any aspect.. (still have to test it in mud) and not everyone is willing to wheel a new ride to find out.. me, i think a shiny skid plate is sexy.. wurd..
yep... thats what i am seeking.. a non biased test.. in several terrains this is why the offroad park would be better suited than just an old trail somewhere.. plus their will be plenty to witness the event!

You might not be able to find someone with an Up Country in shape that's willing to test it. What about someone with a Cherokee that's modified similar to an Up Country? 1-2" max, no rear sway, 30x9.5s, posi or lunch box locker rear, skid plates. It'd be a pretty comparative test.
