I don't know if I'm posting theses things right. Today I get a call from the dealer telling me that there's to much gas in the car and that could be the reason the transmission light comes on. Do they think that I'm a moron. What would the gas have to do with the transmission service light come on. If anything wouldn't the an evap code come up

After reading this post an several others I am very concened about buying a used 2014 or 2015 Trailhawk.
I can't afford to own an unreliable vehicle like carmioia.
Hope it gets corrected. Glad to see someone from Jeep here!

Good move - I won't buy again - that is for sure! I like the Cherokee but way too many issues with the trans and other - I'm done after this.

Any updates on this?
I'm the resident mechanic in the family, have owned MANY XJ's and WJ's over the years and my sister is asking for advice on which SUV to buy. She has two small children and I will have to reconsider recommending jeep after reading bullsh*t like this. I don't care if it's one case or 100. At this day in age, service like this is absolutely unacceptable. Too much gas in the tank? Seriously? Companies need to start taking responsibility for their issues. Step up Chrysler, you f*cked up...again, the very least they can do is cover this person's rental in full until you fix the issue.

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail hawk has acted up at least twice. The first time, the transmission started to try to shift while stopped sitting in traffic, stalled, got all kinds of transmission related messages. 'Service Transmission' ' Do not shift while in motion' 'Shift into P before starting' (while running). Service engine light was on. Transmission stabilized, stopped shifting in a favorable gear so that I could get to the dealer stuck in one gear. they said it was a wiring harness and a software update. 2-3 weeks later a similar (not as severe) episode happened. By the time I made it to the dealer, the symptoms had stopped. Dealer took a look said there was another software update, but otherwise couldn't do anything because they observed nothing wrong. I realized that both times this happened I had been within a mile or two of fueling up after having run my tank unusually empty (15+ miles after light came on). I have no idea how this could be connected to the transmission issues, but it was such a coincidence that I can't let it go. Over the holidays, I made sure never to run the fuel very low. No issues (3 weeks/1,000 miles). Once back to the January grind I'm trying to look for good chances to experiment. The first fill-up, I went 19 miles after the light went on. The Jeep stalled 4 miles later. No other symptoms of transmission issues. I will keep experimenting. Yes I know the last event sounds like it could be a fuel filter, but be assured that the first two were not fuel filter issues. I've told the dealer of this coincidence.

I have a 2014 TH 3.2 and the transmission has been clean from the day I drove it from the dealership with no problems.....until. I did start to have problems when they flashed my PCM for the most recent recall. At highway speeds I no longer get 9th gear and my gas mileage has noticeably dropped and which until now I was regularly clocking 26-28+ mpg.
Other than that my TH is a tank in any road condition, its awesome.
