Yea I couldn't get it in there... both the foot and the base were too large. I tried every way possible haha. It came with the same strap as the Jerry Can and has the same holes but I have no idea what kind of container could fit in there... Jerry Can fit perfectly!

I've seen pictures of it around with a jack there but not from Smittybilt themselves. Maybe someone modified it to work.
I like the horizontal mounting better myself anyway. I wouldn't be able to get in the garage if I had one standing straight up on the carrier.

I found this picture with a soft MOLLE pack in there. I figured that's what they had in mind with the grid work.

Those are kind of cool. I think the W.A.S.P. would be more useful if I could put it in there. Do you sell the packs shown in that picture as well?

Yea I like it horizontal and on top as well. Don't have to open it to get it out if I was backed against something. Only downside Is I've banged up my door if I don't open the carrier far enough! Haha.

I'm building a tire carrier right now and can't decide if I'm adding the Hi-Lift or not. I had it horizontal on the TJ and it was great but the way I designed my swing out I don't think I can get away with it. It won't open far enough to clear the hatch. Oh well. In 10 years I've used it maybe three times. Might find a good place inside when I move on to interior storage system.

I'm not sure where they got that. Smittybilt makes several MOLLE systems they call G.E.A.R. but they are all a system like seat cover or tailgate cover. They may have pulled one of the bags off of there and hooked it on. It does kind of look like a pack I used to sell on another website I had selling camping and hiking equipment. Maxpedition maybe? I may have to look into that. I still have the account to order.

You could mount it diagonally. I have seen some that have done that! Thanks again for your time/info man.

Thought about diagonal too. We shall see. My first priority is to get the tire out of the cab then I'll figure the jack out.
No problem on getting the info. Happy to help anytime I can. I'll see if I can't find out more on that bag when I get a chance too.
