Hey Guys
I've been roaming around the forums for a while now as I anticipated buying an XJ. Now that I finally got one, I figured it's time to stop hiding!
I've always liked Jeeps, but never owned one until now. I've got a Subaru Legacy sedan DD, which is a killer car. Great for MPGs, but I'm in a band and it's not so great for hauling equipment. So I decided I needed an affordable SUV, and a Cherokee was tops on my list.
Long story short, I found a red 98 Cherokee Sport 4.0 auto relatively close to me. The original owner blew the motor, so the motor was replaced, but the car only has....88,652 original miles! And it shows. I couldn't find a speck of rust on it. This thing is pretty close to immaculate and I couldn't be happier.
I'm on a pretty tight budget so I don't have any plans for serious mods or offroading excursions (yet), but at some point I'd love to lift it a little bit and get some bigger tires on it (and replace the steel rims with either a set of Grizzlys or the Gamblers....always liked them!) and maybe a nice roof rack.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics, the only ones I have at the moment. I'm glad to be a member, I've already read so much useful information and I look forward to learning a lot!
