New to jeeps and so far I hate it
I bought a jeep for the first time in my life to have a new family hobby to take a break from drag racing while stationed here in Utah. Well I bought this thing for 2k it had some little issues witch now has turned into a lot of issues but I just keep reminding myself I bought it for what the tire alone cost. So cheers I hope all of you can help me out with the issues I keep finding
So the mods are electric fans, aluminum radiator, aux trans cooler, 6.5 inch long arm lift, 35" Micky Thompson Baja m/t, wrapped atp header, rock sliders, painted sand tan with bed liner, 8.8 rear end with locker and some other stuff not worth listing.
First day I got it

Welcome. You're in just about the best place on the internet to find help about XJs. I learn something new from the knowledgeable people here just about every time I log on.
Something that may help you as you try to find answers here:
The search function on this board sucks. It will omit the most relevant posts and give you crap you don't want. It can be extremely frustrating, especially when you're already frustrated with an issue on the rig.
To avoid that problem, ignore the search button on this page and use Google with the "site:" tag with the cherokeeforum.com domain name instead. For example, if I wanted to find other posts from people new to Jeeps, I might try this:
site:cherokeeforum.com new to Jeeps
All the "site:cherokeeforum.com" tag does is restrict Google to pages on this site, and it works really well for finding posts about specific issues. You can use it with any website or message board.
Now, about that attitude...
Let's be patient. You bought a 20+ year old vehicle with some fairly extensive modifications. It's going to need the same attention any other 20+ year old vehicle needs, and then some. You're likely to find a lot of interesting and frustrating things prior owners have done to it. You will also likely experience a lot of the same known issues that all of us do sooner or later if we keep our rigs long enough.
But the good news is that there's not a single part or problem on that Jeep that someone here hasn't already dealt with. So reframe your state of mind and enjoy your new project. Or go ahead and get rid of it and give up on old vehicles, because you're not likely to find it particularly easier with anything else of this vintage.

Thanks I do love the jeep it is awesome and I understand it's old and needs work witch I'm ok with just did a head in it two days ago and I was impressed with how easy it is easier than a SBC witch I'm my world says a lot. My attitude is coming from not understanding why it keeps failing emission witch in my personal opinion is dumb when it comes to a old vehicle. I have posted my issue in the tech section.

hi and welcome.
what is going on with the emissions, is it high NOx or high carbon?
does it have a catalytic converter in place or did the previous owner remove that? if it's there, it could be bad.
as with the O2 sensors, these in combination is usually what fails emissions alone.
also check your vacuum lines, make sure there is a vacuum accumulator at the front passenger corner, usually attached inside the bumper. it's a big round black egg looking thing.
good luck, once you get this thing sorted out and start driving it, you will fall in love with it.
cherokees rock.

Welcome. Good luck getting everything straightened out. I remember when I first got mine I hated it because it wouldn't pass emissions, all mine needed was a tune up, I took it back the next day and passed and have now loved it ever since
