Default new to this jeep stuff

okay, well i dbeen into hondas for a long time (civics integras...) and it came to a time where i couldnt drive my civic as a daily any more due to expensive parts being on it an scared of theft/vandalisim.. so i needed a daily driver.

a guy at my work needed cash quick and was selling a 1996 jeep cherokee 2 door 2.5L 4 cylinder.. i know its a weak 4 cyl. but i havent seen much of those.

it is pretty clean with 136k on it. 5 speed. from quick research it came to my knowlege that this jeep is a special edition? it gets pretty good gas mileage.

my plans are to just do a simple 4.5" or 3" lift. some decent tires.. maybe a nice little system. and cup holders! geez. any advice is welcome as i am new to this off road type of stuff. i mean my civic is slammed to the ground and now im wanting to raise a jeep to the sky.. some thing is wrong with me.. lets see if i can find a pic of it

using it to haul parts

and one other one of the rear

thats all for now
