Default New guy with a question

Hi guys, I have a 2001 Cherokee sport. I have the 8.25 rear axle with the NP231 T case. I have owned my XJ since I was a sophomore in High School, I am now a senior. It currently sits bone stock and I would like to do a suspension lift. I wanted to do 3 inches but figured I would need a SYE even with that so why not go up to 4.5. The only kit I can really afford right now with the SYE is a RC 4.5 inch X-series lift. Is it even worth buying this for a DD? the ride quality is really not an issue for me, its a freakin Jeep haha. I just do not want parts breaking on me. I will be on the streets 90 percent of the time and the other 10 on mild trails nothing hard core. I also want to run 33 inch tires so I have the gears in the budget. I have just not heard that many good things about RC, or should I wait a while and keep saving the the RE 4.5 kit?

Welcome. I would say go with an SYE either way even if thats what you start with. This piece of advice comes after fighting the need for one and trying to go with the transfer drop. That just causes weird problems all over the place.

I say go with the higher option right away. Dont go AAL whatever you do they are a waste of time and money. The initial savings is quickly outweighed. I have run the Rusty's kit for four years now on my current XJ and I really like it.

Good luck! Welcome to the addiction.
