Jeep addict new to the XJ thing.
Hi my name is Lennie and I am a jeep addict. I think that is how we start these meetings right? Although I am not new to jeeps I just recently picked up my first XJ, a 95 Cherokee Sport Japanese export. It still has the dealer sticker from Japan on the bumper as well as a couple open air tv antennas used in Japan mounted on the back above the rear hatch. My first jeep was a 51 CJ2A that had been completely restored. I bought that at 21 and have been hooked ever since. So far I have owned that CJ2A, a 60 CJ5, a 65 CJ5, and a 69, 71, 76, and 80 Wagoneers, as well as a full size 79 Cherokee. My parents had two XJs in the past a 85 Wagoneer Pioneer and an 86 Cherokee Limited that ended up going to my sister until she destroyed it. If I knew then what I know now I probably would have picked up mom's 85 after she blew the 2.5 up in it and put one of many V8's I had laying around in it.
I have been lurking here for a few months and finally decided to become a member so I could learn from you good people here. Over the course of time I am sure I will have many questions so please be patient with me. I have a lot of ideas but not any set plans for my Cherokee so far. The only thing I know for certain is I will be pulling it 4 down behind my 87 Allegro Motorhome and want to build a capable trail rig out of it without giving up on highway manners. I am sure that is a tall order but hope it can be done. Anyway thanks for having me and I look forward to being a part of this community.
