I've been missing out!
Hi all! My name is Brandon and I've been lurking on here for a few months now; figured it was time to make an account. I've got a 1997 Cherokee Sport 5speed (took me 8 months to find it) with a 3" lift. Prior to my Cherokee awakening, I had a 1962 Unimog that I wish I never had to sell. I've had this Cherokee for about 6 months now and I couldn't be happier; besides the occasional dash slap to wake the gauges. Not sure where I plan to go with this one, but so far the goal is to finish where the last owner left off. When I bought it, it had a 3" add-a leaf kit and 31x11.5 LTB's. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of add-a-leaf and the tires were too big for the lift. Aside from that, he did nothing but disconnect the sway bars .
I've made a list of things that need to be corrected before I go any further.
So far I've...
-replaced the add-a-leaf with a proper 3" leaf pack. (I hate you Chrysler for those damn capture nuts on the inner "frame" rail.)
-purchased extended bump stops for the front and rear
-purchased extended brake lines
-purchased JKS front disconnects
-swapped relatively new 31x11.5 LTB's /15" Cragger wheel package for 235/75/16 Toyo A/T's /16" Cragger wheel package. (some guy was looking to upgrade, I was looking to temporarily down grade, plus I made $200 off the deal)
So this is how she sits...
Aside from the Unimog experience, my father and I are big fans of the older Toyota's. Here is his all original 1982 short wheel base 4x4.

appreciate the welcome. That's the same model Unimog I had; 1962 404S. They are awesome vehicles but the dilemma with the older models is their top speed. The highest I clocked on my GPS was 50.9MPH, and that was going down hill.
I would hope to get another one but it would most definitely be a newer, diesel, model.
