Default Hello from Florida

Hello Cheerokee forum,

I'm here to learn about the Cheerokee. I've decided that I need something a little smaller than my F150 for hunting, general daily use and more viable third vehicle. I currently have a 95 Mustang GT that will have to be sold to buy the Jeep. I hate to get rid of it, but I haven't driven it much in the last two years since my first daughter was born and our second daughter was born a month ago. Anyway hello and I'll be asking a lot of questions.

Shaun

Well, I know very little about the Cherokee. I know it's a unibody design and I believe it has a solid front axle like most Jeep's. I'd like to find one with the 4.0, manual transmissions, four door and 4wd. Does one like that exist? From what I can tell reading on here the 99 model year is desirable. What years are better which ones are worse? What are the common issues that I should look out for? I think that's it for now. I'll do some searches as I come up with other questions in my search.

I found this video helpful. Kind of a quick general run down on the pros and cons of each year

yes those exist. I actually have a 99 4.0 with 5 speed manual and 4 doors. Lol.

Thanks for the replies and the video link. That answered a lot of questions and will steer my search for years.
