1998 Cherokee

Default Former Cherokee owner wants another one

Hi there, my name is Dennis. Looking at Cherokees, again, after regretfully getting rid of my '96 2WD 4cyl. 5 speed model, two years ago. It served me very well, and now is the time to go find another Cherokee.

Looking forward to seeing all this forum has to offer, as I'm in the market for a 4.0L Cherokee. I have questions about the Aisin-Warner trans., if it's a good enough one for daily use, or if I should go with a 5 speed. Two I'm looking at are both '96's, one two door 4WD 5 spd. model, with a new clutch, and a 4 dr. 4WD auto. with lots of work done to it. Both well-maintained. My next Cherokee would be a daily driver, as well as see light pulling and off-road use.

Thanks.
