Back in the jeep game!
I traded in my Lancer this afternoon for a '97 Cherokee SE Timberland. Hoping for a day off to get a good look at what all needs done, but she seems to run strong. Only complaint is it is winter and the heater isn't working... made for a cold 4 hour drive home for my first outing in it haha!

Thanks, everyone. Still figuring out the heat thanks to the awesome threads here. I'm hoping it's not the heater core, but it looks grim...
Here's the symptoms: Heater motor blows, just cold as a mother-in-law's kiss...
I checked the cable to the blend door actuator, and reconnected that with no result other than i could hear the air change over when I turned the heat **** now.
The air doesn't change off of defrost over to the vent.
Normally I would just poke around the rig myself for this information, but it is currently 20 degrees out side... and this is the warm part of the day... so, does the 97 Cherokee with the cable climate **** have a vacuum actuator for the blend door as well? And would that also be part of my heating issues? Just checking my work and research before I dive into a cold project.
