Default 96 Cherokee sport

I got a 1996 jeep Cherokee xj sport, the rim is a size 15, i was wondering if I wanted to lift it and put bigger tires on it but I wanted to keep the stock rims, what would the tire size look like? I want 33s or 32s but would the size be 33/12.50r15 or 33/10.50r15? I don't wanna go buy tires that won't fit my size rims. Anyone? Thanks 👍🏻

First off 32/33's Won't Fit w/ Stock Ride Height/Suspension.
You'll Need At Least a 4 Inch Lift to fit That Size Tires.
Or, You Can Remove the Fender Flares & Cut Out the Fenders.
But, They'll Still Rib on the Bumps.
Get a 2-3" Budget Lift (Front Coil Spacers & Rear Add-A-Leaf) First.
That way You Can Run 31's Off Road & Maybe 32's on the Street.

BTW, I Have a 96 XJ 2Dr that I've Been DD 4 the Last 10yrs.
Mine Has a 2.5" Lift Front & Rear.

I Have Been Running LT235/75/R15 (29 in. dia.) - 6 Ply Tires on it Since the Day that I Bought it.
Have Lived in the Mountains of Arkansas 4 the Better Part of 7yrs.
Home Is 7.5 Miles Off the Pavement & 23 Miles to the Nearest Town.

Tires This Size Fit w/ Lots of Clearance (Even when Running the Fire Roads at Up to 45mph)
And They're Still Available In Most Places.
If you Drive a Lot on Rocky, Dirt & Gravel Roads, 6-8 Ply Tires Are Mandatory.
Especially if you Want them to Last & Will Help Reduce the Frequency of Flat Repairs.
Trust Me, I Know. Been There, Done That!

Best Tires I Ever Had on it were a Set of Toyo Geolander All Terrains.
(Real 6 Ply & Never Had a Flat Off Road)
I'm Lookin at a Set of their New Open Country AT's Now.

Worst Set was what it Came w/ from the Factory (Goodyear Wranglers).
(Had Flats almost Every Other Week)

The Largest Tire I would Run w/ Stock Suspension is a Set of 31/10.50/15's.
And, I'd Upgrade my Shocks to Monroe Gas Magnums.
Harsh Ride, But, They Do Provide a Lil' Rub Proofing.

Anyway, My Advice Is to Invest in your Suspension, Before Going to a Larger Tire Size.

First off I didn't say I was putting 32s 33s on stock height, I said if I lift it and I will lift it. The fenders are already cut bud I could fit 31s stock. I just wanted to know what the tire sizes are for my stock rim. And I'm going with the bastard pack and zj coil springs with spacers with some other parts.

No Prob Dude,
With Your Mods the 32's should Fit Just Fine.
Take a Look at the Various Tire Sites (BF Goodrich, Maxxis, Toyo, Etc.) & Let Your Budget Be Your Guide.
Still Lots of Larger Tire Sizes Out there for 15 Inch Rims.
Your only Limiting Factor Will be the Rim/Wheel Width.
Many/Some will Not Work On Our Skinny Stock Wheels.

PS: It's too bad that No One Still Makes a LT9.50/85/R15 Profile Tire, Like they Did Back in the 70's.
(Worked at a Uniroyal Tire Shop Back Then & They were a 30" dia. 6 ply Truck Tire w/Great Off Road Tread)
They Called it an Extreme Duty Mud & Snow Tire. We just called them Mud Tires!
Oh Well. Guess I'm Gettin Old.

If you want 33s on stock rims, you'll need spacers. And good spacers like spider traxxas. Not those cheap ones from ebay. Your going to rub on the control arms. Or just get rims with the proper backspace.
