1999 Jeep Cherokee

Just bought this 1999 Jeep Cherokee. Drove home 100 miles or so back to Pennsylvania and got it inspected yesterday. It seems to be in decent shape, a little noisy over bumps so I'm getting some rubber bushings and front end shocks replaced.

It also has a dent in the drivers door that will need to be fixed and the roof needs to be painted.

Some odd electrical issues will also need to be addressed.

I haven't had a jeep in a long time.

Welcome!

That is one nice 99, is it 2wd or 4x4?

Welcome to the Forum. Is the dent something you can have a paintless dent repair guy fix? Had one that spanned the horizontal crease on the passenger front door and it came out fine.

Default Rear Shocks a big improvement

After a couple of days of effort this Cherokee is much nicer to drive. Never new there could be so much noise from bad shocks.

Bad shocks are annoying. Finally replaced mine and it was a blessing. Love the jeep! Looks clean.

I tried one paintless dent repair and got a reply that it was beyond his skill and he wanted 750 to paint it in his shop. I saw you expanded reply to keep looking for the right guy... So I am going to keep looking. I appreciate your comments on this topic.

Good luck, John. Doesn't hurt to keep looking. Sounds expensive. I had a front fender that was pushed in by a deer right behind where the fender flare starts to turn down.

The pdr guy couldn't fix it, but a body shop guy pulled it out flush. Had to replace and paint the flare, but it was a couple hundred total.

The deer did not make it. Surveyed a clean break in the neck. If I hadn't been driving an Israeli Yemeni friend to the airport on a tight scedule, I'd have picked up the deer carcass.
