Do you need a ground wire or does the bracket act as a ground?

Mine will be painted, do I need to sand it down where the screw goes?

The bracket is grounded to the body, so there's no need for a ground wire .

Even if it's painted, it's still grounded.

I want a CB, but didn't want a hood mounted whip, just looks cheesy, I think this is the answer.

Definitely a great way to keep the antenna out of the way and out to the back.

I like too that you don't have to drill in anywhere. It basically bolts right on and you're ready to go.
