Using cherokeeforum15 at checkout brings price to around $25.50.
Most of the costs of the lights... and most things that aren't material intensive... are in things other than the lights, so I can't give much of a discount buy removing certain lights. I can, but it doesn't end up being much. Selling these lights as a set is the only way I can make enough to continue doing it. The profit margins for loose lights are razor thin after transaction fees (ebay, amazon, website, etc).
Things that go into pricing:
lights themselves: (pretty cheap in bulk, but less than other costs in some cases)
research - buying lights to test and finding a decent manufacturer
testing time - free (I enjoy it)
test equipment-gauges, panels, switches, interior fixtures, etc
bench equipment- mostly just a (cheap) soldering iron and variable power supply
packing- cheap in bulk
transaction processing fees- around 4%
shipping- 8%
I'm working on professionalizing packaging, website, and listings. Packaging is going to remain amateurish until I increase my volume. I didn't put in business costs in the list above... website, business permit, name registration, etc. I could sell at a lower volume without those things.
Thanks for supporting my obsession and allowing me to support brighter Jeep interior lighting!

I love the set of LEDs I bought from you. I was wondering if you have the lights for this interior dome light only. I bought a set for an OHC, but the wiring harness I have for the OHC is not correct so I cannot hook up. I have a '98 xj. Thanks

No I wasn't paid or told to say this I am just very impressed on his business and the great product he has! Highly recommend these sets!

Rob, I sent you a PM. I just want to verify your shipping info before I send the lights.

Thanks for the vote. I wish I were doing more with the lights... feel like I do nothing but business set-up type stuff anymore. The sets continue to sell pretty well... very steadily over the last three months.
My goal is to be able to do this efficiently from as possible from the business side of things... inventory, accounting, listings, etc so I can focus on putting light sets together. Things are coming along, but it's a steep learning curve.
Next up are TJ and ZJ sets. It just makes more sense to do those before the XJ instrument sets because I'm able to build them with in-stock parts except for the early year (97-99?) TJ dome lamp. That one is a neat part... it's intended for use as a backup lamp or as a turn signal, so it's really bright and still uses less power than the original dome bulb.

Just installed my LED set a week ago and I love it! Installation was easy and it is SO much brighter than stock!
I only wish that you still sold the set for the gauge and dash lights as the stock ones look very dim compared to the set I bought. Also, a complete set for the exterior (maybe minus headlights) would be awesome! Will definitely do business again!

I'm shooting for fall/winter sales of instrument sets. My preferred source of lights has a 1,000 to 2,000 piece minimum order requirement for small lights, so it's mostly just a matter of funding. When I buy them from random vendors it tends to be hit or miss as far as quality, shipping time, color temps, etc... basically a big PITA for what is a fairly small return.

I put a set of these lights in my 90' XJ, all lights except the dash set. I really like the difference in the color of the light and the light output. I compared as I went along and the old dull yellow I thought was probably the old dome covers was not the case. The new bulbs put out ten times (not scientifically proven) more light and its a crisp white light, with old covers. The visor lights are bright, so much so you might not like what you see now .
I did the trial and error thing for LED lights with my old camper van. I bought several different ones before finding ones that worked like manufacture said it would. This light set is a one stop shop for good bulbs the first time.
Thanks again, Snajo.

I installed mine last night- it's amazing how much of a difference it makes! Really makes the interior have a "cleaner" feel. Worth every penny... wish I listened to your tip about disconnecting the battery though... I done burnt my fingertips a bit. Because I'm a stupid.
One quick suggestion- It'd be cool if you also had an LED for the engine light.

I did some testing on my underhood lamp last summer. I cleaned all the contacts, soldered the LED into place, put some dielectric grease on the contacts, and hooked it back up. It uses the same light that goes in the 84-96 dome and cargo lamp or the 97-01 dome light.
Come to think of it, I took it out at some point and never put it back in...
