Amazing parts and service! Green is a really nice, vibrant color. But is not overly bright as to hurt the eyes. Very informative and friendly seller. Thanks!

I had a question about white lights, so here are some pics. I didn't take photos of white HVAC and Transfer Case / Transmission because they don't look a whole lot different than stock.
This is my best shot at reproducing the actual shade of blue and orange that the gauge cluster shows when white bulbs are used.
Again, it's a subtle change from stock.
Except for the rocker switches, I don't love white lights in our XJs. In stock form, all colors are formed by shining white light through colored filters. In some cases, the filter is on the bulb, like a rubbery little color bulb condom... in others, it's in the display lens itself, like HVAC, Transmission/Transfer, idiot lights, turn signals, and rocker "on" indicators. The main gauge display is a bit of both... the bulbs have a rubbery blue condom and the display itself has a slight blue/orange tint.
Due to this, blues and greens work very well overall, reds are a bit on the dark side, and white looks a lot like stock. The difference is only that the white light is a narrow spectrum tending to have a blue cast if not pure white, while stock incandescent bulbs have a warm yellowish, slightly orange tint.
Of course... as is due, 97+ sets available... see the first post of this thread. Pre 97, well, I'm ready to send test sets out this weekend. I'll get in touch with a couple people I have in mind and we'll see how it works out.

As I've posted previously, I've been trying to find more suitable LEDs for the transmission and transfer case. The issue is that the LEDs that fit well and have good light distribution also get uncomfortably hot.
Well, it turns out removing the resistors that make the chip CANBUS friendly reduces current draw from at 14v DC from around 170mA to 40mA. I estimate heat output is reduced similarly to 20-25% of what it was prior to the resistor removal.
I didn't try this before almost because it seemed to simple... and also because I don't feel like manually desoldering several hundred resistors. Well, no fear... it turns out that a pair of needle nose pliers makes quick work of those stupid resistors.
Rejoice. I'm not sure how this will effect the lifespan of these LEDs, but I cannot imagine it being anything other than positive.
I'll try to post a photo tomorrow.
I'm in the process of desoldering a couple hundred LEDs... removing the things in red, but not the parts in green. Anyway, tedious process, but it takes less than one minute for each LED.

Updates:
Pre-97 test set went out. Once I get confirmation and my next order of bulbs comes in, I'll be able to sell interior sets for pre-97. Prices will be comparable to 97-01... probably less for interior and more for instrument sets. Instrument sets will include gauge cluster, HVAC backlight, transfer case/transmission, and rocker switch backlighting. Warning lamp LEDs, turn signal, and high beam indicators are available upon request.
Removing the "CANBUS" resistors from the transfer case, transmission, and pre-97 gauge LED is getting quicker. It's almost easy now that I've practiced. From now on, all LEDs I ship will have extra resistors removed since they do us no good what-so-ever.
There is one person that ordered a set of RED instrument bulbs, but it was a while ago and I'm pretty sure I cleared their PMs from my box. Anyway, if you happen upon this, remind me of your paypal email address and I'll get replacement transmission/transfer case bulbs out. Very similar LEDs, but they'll run much cooler and should last longer. Everyone else has been contacted.
Shipping to Canada is an extra $5. If I can get it through cheaper, I'll refund the extra. Since I have to go to the post office for these, shipping might be delayed a day.
97-01 sets are ready to ship. See the 1st post of this thread for info.
Thanks as always.

Can you PM me pricing for rear hatch light, front dome light (no center console), and the interior floor lights? Basically just looking for interior lights, nothing behind the cluster.

$29 shipped for 97-01. That's everything in the "interior" kit except for sunvisor/vanity lights. I've been asked this a few times, thus the post. PM to follow.

whats the turn around for getting white/white or white/blue? how do you prefer payment?
i have seen the first page looked over several times. i have a light blue xj the reason for this is my instrument lights are really dim/out. also do these leds replace the light cluster for the 4x4 status?

Installed red led and white interior set
Just installed mine earlier today and couldn't be happier. Don't hesitate to send this guy some money! Customer service was excellent and pieces arrived fast nicely labeled and packed. +1 for you good sir. As he mentioned with the reds there are some quirks but really nothing that bad cause the red looks great.

I have a LEDs that can replace any cluster indicators. The stock bulbs do a great job, so except for turn signals, high beams, and replacement of bad bulbs it's not worth the trouble. If you need the "Part Time 4x4" I can send a yellow or red LED that will fit (I suggest yellow). If you need "Full Time 4x4" blue or green will work. No extra change. Also, if you want blue turn signals, I will add a pair for an extra $2.
Hope that answered the question. PM me if interested in ordering.

84-96 Instrument sets are available (limited quantity) $25 shipped
Blue: 2 Sets
Red: 1 Set
Green: 2 set
White: Zero sets
84-96 Interior sets are available (limited quantity - white only) $35 shipped
1 Set with Overhead Console
1 Set with Front Dome
Instrument Sets include: blue, green, white or red: gauge cluster backlight, hvac, rocker switches, and transmission/transfer case indicators, and blue or green only: blinkers, high beam indicator. I don't have an HVAC panel to test on, but everything else looks good. I'll send a white and requested color for HVAC. White is backup in case the color doesn't work well.
Interior sets include front dome and map lights (or Overhead Console), floor wells, glove box, rear dome, and vanity mirror lights if you have them. White only. $35 shipped.
If interested in both, the price is $55 shipped.
If ordering an instrument set please put detail of colors you want for cluster/rockers/hvac/trans. Also choose blue or green for blinkers and high beam indicator. High beam doesn't have to match the blinkers.
I also need to know how many rocker switches you have.
If you order the interior set, please let me know if you have the overhead console or front dome. I'll ship bulbs for sun visor lights unless you specify you don't want them. Just easier for me and they're cheap to begin with. $3 discount if you specify you don't want them. Just take it out of the price.
Other ideas:
I'm low on 97-01 interior sets... only two sets available. from there it'll be three weeks or so before I have more.
I'm considering having a custom HVAC face panel made for 97-01 that would take care of some of the issues we have with back lighting. I'd like to know what interest in this there might be, especially from people who have ordered. Basically, the idea is to make the blue and red portions white and add two small symbols on the hot/cold selector to indicate temperature. That would allow any color to make it through clear and unaltered. The other question is what would it be worth paying? Compared to the cost of the lights, it would be a fair bit.
I found the following vendor here that could probably do what I'm thinking about... It seems he has an aversion to LEDs tho.

If it works there, you likely have a bad sensor...
For 97+ I found a thread https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/4-w...working-73665/
If you have the LED in the cluster during the self test, there is a 50% chance it won't work due to polarity. Incandescents don't have this issue. Just something to keep in mind.
