What would you recommend for a 96 4.0 stock?
They would be going to VA. in Chesapeake VA 23322

A stock '96 would use the Neon 703 injectors for an upgrade. Here's a reprint of my earlier update:

Thanks for the continued replies but I have no "ultrasonically cleaned" injectors any longer. They were a bust. I think 30% of them were dead when I tested them after getting them back from being cleaned. I still clean, rebuild and sell occasional sets when I have the time but just rely on soaking and reverse flushing and visually checking the spray pattern.

1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L

I just finished up swapping out stock injectors for 703 injectors I purchased from Programbo. Installation went super smooth with no leaks, all injectors appear to be working great! I took my xj out for a test drive and it was rough, it didn't want to idle very well, almost shutting off. There was a strong smell of gasoline I believe, hard to pinpoint the smell. Check engine light came on with P0171: System Too Lean (Bank 1). After driving it for a day and cycling the engine on/off, it seems that the pcm computer got the mixture right and now my xj is running smooth as butter. Will report back if any issues ensue.

I highly recommend working with Programbo, shipping was quick and easy!

Hmmm. Normally it takes a good number of starts for the PCM to "learn" the new injectors. I've heard as high as 50 starts. But your symptoms seem a bit more extreme than after a normal swap. Glad it smoothed out and is running well now as you seem to indicate.

I'll take those 784's if you still have them. How much?
