Dont know if this applies but my .2. My cherokee I went with 4.5 in RC lift cause zone wasnt making any yet. RC sucked all the way around. Mix and matched hardware, crap instructions, and real crap leafs. My leafs started splitting apart after about 3k miles. And they are too short eye to eye, there fix is selling a shackle correction kit. My TJ has a zone 3" and when compared fit and finish to RC, Zone hands down. My next XJ will be getting Zone unless I hit the lottery.

Helped my buddy install his 3" AAL Zone lift with nitro shocks. Easy to install and rides than expected. His shocks were black and had the zone logo stamped in if that matters at all. Instructions were helpful but not really necessary as its a pretty straight-forward deal. I believe for a 3" lift all you have to do is re-drill the axle side track bar mount 5/8" over. However he went with a double shear track bar and mount and it is wonderful. Next lift I do will be Zone for sure unless I win the lotto then all hell will break loose! Also for the shock bolts that are nearly guaranteed to break...Drilling them works just fine but I find it easier to take a punch and a BFH to them and all it takes is 1 or 2 nice whacks and that weld nut is history.

Thanks for the review! And I just replaced my shocks about a year ago so I should be good there. We only broke one bolt but it took a good 2 hours to do lol

I'm running a Zone 2" lift. AAL is bullet proof. No sagging after towing a 16 ft. boat loaded with 250 lbs. of other supplies. Also installed the nitro shocks. It rides great, very happy with the quality.

I'm trying to decide between the 2" or 3" AAL kit.. I'm currently running 235/ tires and don't plan in going much bigger maybe 30's next time but I don't want to compromise fuel economy. My xj is all stock with over 200k miles on it. I don't notice any rear spring sag if any thing the back is a little higher than the front.. The main reason I'm considering the 3" is because of the new coils... And id like to eventually get a beefier front/rear bumper... Maybe even a winch someday.. Otherwise i think 2" would be fine. Would the 3" look funny with my 235's? They are virtually brand new so I won't be replacing them anytime soon. Your opinions would be appreciated! Thanks Carlos

If it has stock leaf springs, but it is lifted, then the stock leaf packs are probably just dead. It's a normal thing for Jeep Cherokee leaf springs to sag. I'd just replace them with new lift packs.

I just installed the 4.5 zone kit with full leaf packs. I'm running a 33x12.5x15 BFG km2 on a 15x8 d window with 3.75 backspacing. So far it rides nice but I need an alignment. It has only been on for a few days, so I can't say too much. Overall I like it.

I have installed around 25 zone lift kits. It's just another budget minded lift in my op. No better or worse than rc.

Would I buy a zone lift? Honestly no. But i would not ml by a complete kit period.

I've done over 400 BDS kits and another 50 Zone kits over the last 8 years. Instructions are everything and these are top notch. I've seen crap instructions in my day. Sending you in wrong directions.

I recently installed a 3in Zone lift on my XJ. This was my first experience with suspension work so it took me a while but I was able to get it on fairly easily. Also the springs and shocks seemed like a good quality, at least to me. Very happy with how it looked and how it rode. I went zone over rc for two main reasons. Someone told me that Zone was the exact same product as BDS except without the warranty. Also I heard considerably less bad things about zone than about rc. Good lift if you're on a budget like I am.

IMO, you get what you pay for. My 3" kit has only been on for 5-6 months and the front drivers side spring is shot (sitting almost 1" lower then passenger side) and both rear shocks are starting to leak a little. It's my DD and it's only been on maybe 5 very mild offroad trips.
