I'm planing on mimicking this cage, guy in my club. If your taller an internal cage is going to cause some head room issues but if your under 6ft S&W racecars makes a very nice weld in cage.

With some work that could double as a roof rack! haha. Sweet cage anyway.

Had one of their cages in a wrangler when I lived in CO and was very happy with it. Never had any experience with their xj cages though.

i was just stating that it was built with HREW, and yes a good welder is a key factor but i have actually seen a D&C cage bend in 1 hard roll, and it was just the basic cage, no triangulation just the kit you see in the link. so if its a small flop then yes it'll hold fine, 1 complete roll probably but a HARD roll nope.

Got any pics? I'd just like to see how and where it bent and if the xj had doors on or off.

Heres a link to another cage thats bolt on

If you looking for something for serious serious wheeling your better off shelling out the cash and having someone that builds cages build one than buying any kit.

i personally don't but i know the dude that owns it does, it didn't completly fold in but it bent enough that it wasn't structurally safe to use again.

and i agree on the having one built for serious use.

here's what my cage started as some 5 yrs ago
http://shop.eoronline.com/product.sc...9&categoryId=2

they have made changes to it since then, mine don't have only 1 speader in the middle it has two. but i added more tube to it and it's held up great over many rolls and too many flops, one roll was even at 40mph.

T&J Performance has a crawler cage kit that includes a basic cage. You can add whatever you want to it. It tucks up nearly into the roof and sits higher than the top of the door opening, if you're willing to yank the headliner.

I've seen quite a few installed. T&J are the Jeepspeed guys, this kit is the starting point for a slew of their XJ's and it fits really tight.

just speaking from my past: don't do a cage inside what a pain in the *** on a full interior vehicle..and if you need the protection of a cage so does your jeep so just exo it
