I noticed an instant improvement when I ditch my mechanical fan and pulley for an electrical fan(taurus). idk if i gained any HP but the throttle response is much better and no more dirty engine compartment when i drive thru deep puddles, lol
I had a cracked intake around where the PS bolts to it, idk PO, so why not upgrade to a 99+ intake. idk if it makes more HP or not but the new style of belt tension sure is nice, especially if you have to replace the intake anyways. I also have an APN header and freer flowing exhaust.
I dont know what help more than the others b/c i rebuild my entire jeep in the matter of about 2-3 weeks, so it went from non-drivable to fun. So no baseline

That was my personal experience and opinion. Others may not have the same results but my xj did have a noticeable difference with the spacer. As with exhaust it didn't seem to be more powerful but it sure did sound better.

I have a 60mm tb on my renix from stroked jeep and along with the neon injectors my cone filter junked clutch fan for big electric fan this thing screams it made a HUGE diff in throttle response and power now just working on header and exhaust

TB spacers have no effect on an MPI motor.
I've yet to see a chip make enough useable torque and horsepower and not serverly affect mileage to make them worth the money you'll pay for one.
A quality CAI (not K&N) coupled with a header will make a noticeable difference. Include a 99+ intake for a few extra ponies and pounds.
A basic tune-up and filter change should always be the first step in increasing the output of any 4.0L.
Regear your axles if you've installed taller tires.

hi guys,
Regarding HP.. on 4.0L i6
Your not going to get much from all of these mods.. Intake, throttle body, manifold, headers, high flow exhaust, electric fans, a/c delete, injectors and what ever else you can think of that bolts on. I know this from experience. Im more of a gear head than an off road enthusiast. (Will be with next xj)
Anyways ive done most of these, actually all of the above mods other than 99 intake mani. With that ive only noticed better throttle response, and much better top end accl. and a couple mpgs to go with it.
Three ways to get HP in a jeep is either to 1. STroke it 2. Swap it 3. FI (Forced induction)
Also im running stock height, stock sized wheels/tires, and stock gears.. so really your not going to get much out of it.

Have you regeared yet???? That's actually where you'll get more Bang 4 the buck.... Might as well address the main limiting factor in power transmission, rather than try to overcome it.
