Default Xj headlights

Does anyone have any info or knowledge on the led headlights for the XJ? I can not decide on either led or hid headlights, thanks.

There is two type of led headlights now,One replaced the whole headlight the other is more of a replacement bulb for a h4 style headlight.Hid i'm not a fan of most do it wrong and blind people. And in some states adding hids to anything that did not have them stock is illegal.

Here are those LEDs that go in a h4 housing such as autopal from olympusoffroad these are the the Zeus led lights with the CREE 1512 led
I have not tried these I hear they kick butt, so Ive been looking at them for my 96.

I would go LEDs over hid, thats just my 2 cents..

Truck Lites are awesome. Also if you wheel ever, HIDs are a terrible idea. They do not last at all if they are subjected to vibrations, and water ruins the ballasts in no time.
The LEDs on the other hand are tough as hell.

Olympus is questionable, and my TruckLites are brighter, whiter, and have a cleaner cutoff than my buddy's Zeus bulbs.

TruckLite actually makes military hardware. Their headlights are available to the general public. The other option is JW Speaker. You get TruckLite performance and a different look for 3x the price.

I love my TruckLites, and I'm thinking about a set for my '79 F150 later on down the road.

You can buy at least two sets of TruckLites for the cost of a proper HID setup with a spare ballast and extra set of bulbs

Do the Trucklites get hot enough to keep them from icing over in snow storms? That was a major concern for me after driving through some serious blizzards last winter.

By the way I am very happy with my projector retrofit that I got from a member here (not FST) for under $200 shipped.

I live in Alaska and I have a friend way north of me who has them and he says when its real bad out with heavy wet snow that it will build up on them. I have truck lites for the first time this year so I guess I will see how they do in heavy snow. I went ahead and bought some cause my other friend has them in his jeep and they seemed to do fine.. So hmm I guess I will see.

I never had a problem. Even in heavy snowfall, only the bottom half of the headlight got covered, and that's the high beam half

That is what I thought they would do, since the top is the only part on most of the time. I can see where ppl could think they are all covered but it is really the high beam just covered up Ill just get out and clean them if I need high beams(gives me a chance to checkout my cool headlights) Then the heat from the highs should do just like the top did and be fine in the snow . Cool thanks Clown your my heeeerooo lol
