Default WJ Seats in XJ?

So I did some searching and didn't find a real answer for my question..

As far as I can tell WJ front leather seats can be swapped into the front of my 98 XJ, and pretty much bolt in. But what about the power and heat options getting wired in? Is the wiring there, or do I need to wire it in myself?
Also I would like the rear seats to match, can WJ rear seats fit in the back of the XJ? And if so, what does it take to get them installed, I know that its a 60/40 rear split not a full bench, so its going to take a mount bracket or two.

Any pics of people who have swapped in WJ seats into their XJs?
Thanks!!

WJ front seats are a direct bolt on to your 98 factory seat brackets.

The wiring for the power and heat will not be in your Cherokee. But it can be wired up. You just need the wiring diagram for the WJ.

Is the rear doable, yes. Is it worth it, I don't think so.

I did the ZJ swap. It's not quite the same as the WJ swap for the rear seat, but it's pretty close. I like the 60/40 split and think it was worth it. link is in my signature.
If you already had power seats you can just splice in the WJ seats wiring. If not, you'll need to run it.

Thanks!!
I will be adding this to the list of things to be done to the XJ, and I found a set of good condition 2000 WJ leather power heats for $200 locally, but they are grey, and I think I want black...
But who knows when those will be available for the right price...

black is best, but would be hot when the sun heats it up.

you could probably modify the air tube that goes through the consul to go out the side and blow cold a/c up under the seat.

too bad my a/c doesn't work anymore.

i've seen lots of wj's here in the scrap yards with beautiful black seats in great shape. don't know how much yet tho. i'll have to go see.

I just did this swap in my 98, black leather WJ seats actually. The WJ seat frame doesn't bolt up I the XJ floor, it's close and you could probably drill new hole to match the WJ frame, but I chose the easier route and swapped the WJ seat to my XJ base. I gave up all the power features, but my XJ didn't have any of them anyways. Best $125 I've spent so far!

As stated above just change the seat rails on the WJ seats to the XJ seats rails and theyll bolt in i swapped ZJ seats to my 99 XJ and i love i got the power 10 way working but its complicated to explain i had to splice a few wires i cant remember which ones it was but the heated part still has me stumped because the ZJ seats use a seperate computer module for the heated part

From what I have read on the WJ seats you cant just wire up the heated part either cause of the way it is wired thru the body control unit....however you can wire up all the power fuctions....I eneded up getting really lucky and finding a set of power and heated seats from a limited xj....my 97 did not have the harness under the carpet but i just spliced the harness for the seats to the fuse box...it was not hard at all

I know this is way late, but I did the swap this week, and you asked for pics. So here goes.

I also forfeited the power options, because I get sick of waiting on them to go back and forth when cleaning it (I was a detailer for years, pet peeve). The rears took some cutting and drilling but nothing too crazy. Go for it! Such a great upgrade.
