Wiring Offroad lights on the roof.
Hey,
So i recently decided i finally want to install my offroad lights on my roof. I will be wiring into the headlight wire alongside the driver door. i just can not decide how to get the wire from the roof into the jeep, without cutting the roof or have the wires hanging down into my door any suggestions? i want it to look somewhat professional with as little effort as possible.
Thanks for the feedback.

Never wire in to the headlights,Something to read and look at https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/ho...lights-118115/ If you want it to look like a pro did it drill a small hole in the roof use a rubber grommet seal it up with silicone or rtv and run the wires under the a pillar trim down to the dash for the switch,Of if you want a center console switch run the wires down the b pillar and under the carpet to the console.

I really like where you located the switches. i just might do that. still not sure which way to run my wire. im thinking down the trunk hatch then along the floor. i do not want to drill a hole in my roof.

X2 definitely do not just wire into the existing headlight wire. If I could do it again I would just drill a hole in the roof.
I came off the battery into a relay then ran a good sized wire through a hole in the firewall by the driver's feet, out the grommet for the door, up the weather stripping and then I drilled a hole through the gutter. This is where I put my switch.

"Summit Racing" had the best price at the time on them. Since those photos were taken I have added 2 side mounted LED lights to the rack to light up around me on the trail. Was surprised at how well they worked but did mount them where they were protected from side tree limbs, brush.
The pod worked well for me as well as needed room.

may I suggest a marine deck connector for getting the wiring to the roof lights .you can then unplug them for removal if you want to.it does require drilling a hole ,however it will be a waterproof installation as
it is made for boats.

Yes, you may indeed suggest. And... If you are willing to ignore your own screen name, we'd all be appreciative if you could provide a link or two to a couple that may work

Another option is to take a look at the support between the front and rear driver side doors (Might be in passenger as well, never looked). At the top there will be a rubber grommet that can be removed. Then you can just fish the wires down the support and under the carpet to the dash area. There is enough room between the doors and the rain gutter that you can wrap the wires in some sort of wire loom to protect it. Requires no holes.
As Andrew already mentioned, you don't want to be wiring any additional high draw devices into the stock headlight wiring. However, you could use the stock wiring to fire a small relay switching your own 12v Circuit.
