Default what lift leaf springs

I have searched somewhat but thought I would ask anyway. I bought the jeep lifted, was told 8", I'm trying to figure out what lift my leaf springs are. I've seen, measure from hub to flares, flares are gone and fenders are cut.

I have replaced the following;
*Front coils with 6", no change in height, there are also coil spacers
*control arms w/ adjustable upper and lower
*added control arm drop brackets
*shocks all the way around
*all steering, which I plan on replacing again soon

In the rear, I added shackle relocation brackets and adjustable shackles, that seemed to raise it about 2", removed 2" lift blocks in rear which brought it back to wear it was originally.

My plan is to remove the coil spacers up front, and bring the rear down to match it, it sits a bit too high for my liking, I just don't know what size leaf springs to buy. Is there a way to measure from the axle to the frame or anything?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, I know at this height I should be long arm blah blah blah, but that's not in the cards right now so I would rather not start a discussion about that, thanks.

So I measured from the axle tube to the "frame" rail, and that is 13" if that helps anyone...

These are my shackles and relocation brackets if that helps too

So there is or is not a spacer up front? If you're looking to go down, I would see about RE 3.5" leafs for the rear, with the extended shackles and relocators you should be around 5.5"s which will sit nicely with the 6" coils. Or you could just go up to 35s and it'll be very well proportioned and less hassle.

According to the 2nd post in this thread https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/st...-height-67802/ the stock height tube to frame is 6 3/4" front and 6" rear +/- 1/2" for standard original suspension if that helps.

Thanks guys. There is a spacer up front. I was thinking about going with the 3.5" leaf springs also, if they are a little low, I can lengthen the shackles a little if need be.

The plan is to come down a little bit AND go to 35's when these tires wear out.

I'm not terribly concerned with the hassle of changing things, that way I will know exactly what is on my Jeep, plus I work at a shop so tools, lifts, and everything I need is pretty handy.

And once I go to 35's, gearing will be required, which may as well include lockers of some sort, and that isn't in the budget right now either, most of my money is going towards getting my mustang ready for summer.

You could always go with shorter shackles and leave the leaf springs if you're otherwise happy with them... Those look like ironman fab Relocators to me.

Someone correct me if Im wrong but here's what I'm coming up with:
-1 to 2" lift from Relocators
-Probably 2" lift from shackles
- 3.5" leaves
Meaning you're getting 3 to 4 of your roughly 7" lift from those 2 things. Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't see 3.5" leaves making much of a difference unless you change the shackles too.

People on NAXJA say that these are 0-3.5" lift. Coming from bad experience with the plug in type of Relocators (different brand), I can't fathom there any combination of that bracket and shackle that'll give you any less that 1.5".

I think you will find the Rustys leaf springs are a better quality spring and will hold up longer.

They are the ironman fab brackets and shackles. Originally the shackles were completely vertical so I got these thinking it would correct the angle. It absolutely did, but I think I could have gone without the shackles. Looking at them, it looks like they would add more than 2" but when the other shackles were completely vertical, they didn't really add too much with the proper angle.

Nice quality leafs would be nice too, but I may just start with shorter shackles and go from there.

Think that's a decent plan?

It seems like nobody lists the overall length of shackles besides the Ironman Fab ones, which are adjustable fro 8-10". I just measured mine, center of hole to center of hole is approximately 8 1/4".

What length shackle do you think I should be looking for? Everyone lists them as (+ whatever height over stock"

Those iron man shackles are huge they add a minimum of like 3 inches. I would get a set of extended bomerang shackles. I have some bds greasable ones that add about 1.5 over stock. Maybe look for some 1" lift shackles

So it looks like the iron man shackles are over 4" taller than stock.

Based off your shackles and the axle tube to frame height, those are 3" leaf springs.

The shackle relocation boxes add a little bit lift as well.
I'd keep the leafs and change out the shackles. I hate to promote Rough country but they have cheap greasable extended shackles that are ajustable for 1.5 or 2" of lift. That would probably give you what you need to level out the jeep with the 6" coil in the front. (Without the spacer)
