yeah if i put my fingers through the hole and pull it that part in the middle will be a big hole. waiting for the winter to end to clean the area thoroughly, but i wasn't sure how to shape the sheet metal, was hoping someone had pictures or already done it. i'll post my own once i attempt this. thanks for the suggestions though

Thanks Cane. You had me all excited for a moment ... especially at that price. It's probably too late any way as I've patched together what I needed. I managed to salvage some of the floor but for the most part it will be several pieces of new sheet metal welded together.

Interesting! I looked at various suppliers a few years ago and even asked at our local dealer ... no luck! That price seems ridiculously low. Shipping it to Canada would add a LOT to the price assuming they would do it.

i heard dealers are required to sell and/or keep in stock up to 10 years after the manufacturing date, so 2011 was probably the last year you could get XJ-specific body panels and related parts at a mopar dealer.

i don't trust those overstock parts websites, no idea why. especially being from canada and having to deal with shipping. if someone has dealt successfully with them then fine, but i wouldn't try haha

If you're looking for factory sheet metal, call an auto dismantler near you, tell them the area you need sectioned and they will literally cut the panel out that you need. Of course you'll have to drill out the spot welds, clean up the panel, etc. But it is an option.

I haven't patched that area yet but I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to do it. It won't be as original as I'm planning to add some reinforcement in that area.

i'll try to find one, but without trying to sound too full of myself, most cherokees around here are way worse than mine. i could be lucky, but if i take the 4-5 i saw over the last year at my junkyard, i won't be able to salvage anything.

I used 1/8" plate to tie the frame rails to the 2"x6" rockers that I installed. I will be welding in similar plates in the area you showed. I also welded in outriggers as shown below that attach to the front of the spring hangers. I've also welded in frame stiffeners. The area should be pretty solid!
