Default trans cooler install

im going to be installing my trans cooler soon and was wondering is there a diff in how I mount the cooler in front of the radiator? meaning lines going in and out of the cooler from the side or from the bottom? if its front the side it matter what side it goes in from top or bottom or bottom and out the top?

Doesn't really matter. Do it neatly, of course, that always matters.

I think that some are directional but when I installed mine (stacked plate) it didn't specify directional or not so I assumed that it was not.

Been a few years and working well so far so I reckon it worked.

You guys keep the fluid threw the cooler and the radiator? I've herd people say just the cooler and not the radiator anymore due to rising coolant temps causing high trans temps. Would u all suggest a gauge with the trans cooler install?

I kept it through the radiator because as we all know "winter is coming".

The highest temp that I have seen on my temp gauge (which I would definitely recommend) is a bit over 200 during a long steep hill pull in middle of 100 degree day so I think that the pros of keeping it routed through the radiator certainly outweigh the cons.

Ok great. Now I read a lot that people say dextron fluid and some people say atf+4. What do I use just call the dealer and ask?

You want the inlet to be at the bottom and the outlet back to tranny at the top to avoid any air pockets from getting trapped.

B&M engineers say:
"disregard the instructions that came with the cooler and mount however I wanted....up/down/sideways. "
