I have 97+ mirrors on my 90 XJ. Its an improvement over the original mirrors. Early XJs had tow mirrors on the doors.

See using tow mirrors for what they are for is fine, might not need them much as you can't really tow a large or long trailer without exceeding the weight limit(big trailers as in 2500lb+)
If you read what the op said, he wanted to get some to look "cool" so basically like a poser cummins bi***

I tow my boat with my XJ occasionally and although the boat is 22 feet and quite large, the combined weight of boat and trailer is just a hair over 2,200lbs. The weight is well within the capabilities of an XJ but, the size of the boat makes it a pain with the tiny *** mirrors, which is why I generally use my super duty to tow it. Here's a pic of it hooked to my powerstroke.

I don't see anywhere in his statement that he thought he'd "Look" cool.
Just that it'd BE cool if he could install some.

But then what do I know. It used to be called Reading Comprehension when I went to school. I guess it's called "Jumping to Conclusions" or "Selective Reading Skills" nowadays.

AND for fun I just spent an hour looking for XJ Towing mirrors. On Google.
Everything is for the ZJ or WJ or wrangler or TJ Lots of universal stuff but no specific one made for the XJ.

K, you really Are getting butt hurt. Do ppl get carried away here, sometimes they may. But read your own sentence. OP thought they were sweet and thought it would be cool. He did not mention about functionality. On this site, especially with the elder users, if people do mods more for looks, they get looked down upon. That has never changed. So you really do need to chill out and get that rainbow out your ***.

I don't know why everyone has to rag on the guy because he wants tow mirrors on his jeep. Sure most of us think it's a dumb idea, but the OP didnt build his jeep to everyone else's standards. Who cares, if you have insight, help the fellow out. If not, chuckle and move on. The forums about helping and providing knowledge. Wanna bash people? Log yourself into good ol pirate 4x4

I never ragged in anyone. I simply asked if those mirrors were feasible for what 99% of us do here. Here on the east coast, there are some trails you can't fit into unless both are folded in, let alone extended. And like the guy that got butt hurt said, just use clip on tow mirrors.

Reading comprehension also teaches you that if someone says it would be cool to throw some on, typically means they want there rig to look cool, unless there is a hidden reverse psychology going on? Lol so pull that tampon out and quit gettin butthurt.

I just saw a thread on the subject and thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. If you think it's stupid why even open the thread? No life other than to **** talk other guys? Thought we were all just here to share info and enjoy the Cherokees
