Default TC drop issues with a LP D30?

OK guys 1st post.
I've learned a lot lurking here for the past few weeks and saved a lot of time and money reading you guys posts. I have an issue that Im sure someone else has had before but I cant find an answer.

I have a slight vibration and I was going to install a 1" TC drop. The rig currently has a 3" Zone kit (installed two owners ago). My question is, being that my '01 has a LP D30 will the TC drop make the front worse while correcting the rear? I believe the LP already has about 3 deg more caster than the HP.

Should I just try and shim the rear and not install the drop?

Any other LP guys had this issue?

I have a 2000 lp 30 xj, rusty a 3 inch lift, and I put a 1 inch tc drop on it to fix vibes. I wheeled it after, and it seems to be fine. No issues to be reported.

The one think I would do is replace the tcase shifting linkage grommets as mine fell out shifting into 4 lo.

Good to hear. Im just worried I will create an issue in the front by "fixing" the rear.

It shouldn't create issues in the front, mines been on for about a month and no issue what so ever. What issues are you thinking you'll have?

TC drops create more issues with motor and transmission mounts than the axle unless you run a full time transfer case. You should be fine just know your motor and tranny mounts will wear out faster now.

Dropping the crossmember also drops the exhaust support at the transmission, so watch out for that too. I would confirm what was done and what is wrong before adding or changing parts.

If that is a major concern to you the best way would be to install an SYE and leave the T/C alone, always a better idea in the long run.

Mine only had a slight vibe above 60mph after the lift was installed. Not wanting to put a lot of angularity on the motor mounts I did a little trial and error. I went to the store and bought a bag full of 7/16" USS washers and started using one washer as a spacer and adding until the vibe went away. The magic number on my rig ended up at 2 washers with a nominal thickness of .083", giving me .166" to cover. Not wanting to mess with milling spacers, I tried some .125" shims I had laying around. Took a test drive and no vibe!!

I've still got the shims in there, but one of these days I'll get around to making proper spacers!
