T-case drop questions
im new here but not new to the jeep community, i own a 1997 xj and i was just looking into modifying it and lifting it, now, ive decided on a 3.5'' lift and 31 or 32's and someone was telling me about a tranfercase drop, or an sye kit, ive heard that it is essential or its not needed. its pretty much split down the middle and i just need a set in stone answer to "do i need this?"
and please excuse my newbie ways, but i just need help

Lift it. If there are vibes then you need a tcase drop. No way to tell before hand. Your cherokee won't vibrate so bad that you can't drive it at 3.5". I'm at 3.5" in the rear with a 1" tcase drop and don't have axle shims. No vibes.
SYE is expensive and not needed at 3.5".

97 plus are more prone to vibrations than earlier models.
Using a t-case drop is cutting corners if you ask me. Puts unnecessary stress on shift linkages and motor mounts.

See that's what I was thinking as well, it sounds like cutting corners. When I do something its not on impulse and I want to do it right, I think I'll do an sye seeing as it will be my daily for a long time and I want it to last, rather than burning through u-joints....

Or maybe check with this guy. I hate when people won't list a price but he claims it's a smoking deal...
