Default Shackle Angle

So should I swap these shackle for my stock ones.. Thinking better angle would give better street ride. These give 1.5" lift. I do have plenty of extra XJ and S-10 leafs available to add to the existing Bastard pack to make-up for the lift lost.

If you put a shorter shackle on there it will be angled inward with is opposite of what you want.

Relocation brackets. Shackles will not fix that.

I will be replacing my stock rusting shackles in 2 weeks for OEM replacements, my leafs are still good and I have no sag in the back. But I am worried if I snap the bolts, how I will get out of that jam. I have been spraying the shackle and leaf bolts with PB Blaster every few days in advance of the weekend when I do the job.

still learning, thanks for taking time to help a newbie,

A shackle relocation bracket is used to move the hole where the shackles are bolted to the frame.

I just made mine last week

There's plenty of companies that make the brackets.

I run these http://hdoffroadengineering.myshopif...relocation-kit
They also make a no lift version. Stock shackles won't work with either though.

Do these mount to the nutstrip where the tank skid mounts? I ask because i just did a trailer hitch and it made me wonder if it would interfere with mounting. I was looking into getting some for when i put my 4.5" rear springs on

yeah when I made mine, I made sure it bolted up to same holes. I have both gas tank skid and a hitch.

Did you have to shim anything to have it sit flush? Im assuming you have those mounted first, then hitch, then skid?

I had to modify the exhaust tailpipe a little bit to clear the shackles though. I also need to flip the bottom bolt the opposite side also.

FWIW OEM shackles will work with relocation brackets with a little trimming.

Also shows what short AAL will do to your main leaf.

The good ones do, cheaper ones like the RC ones only mount to the spring pocket and tend to tear out with hard wheeling.
