Replaced the alternator and still wont keep charge HEEELLLLPPPPP MEEEE

HELLLP ME jeep wont keep charge even with new alternator PLEASE HELP
So my boyfriend replaced the alternator in my 95 cherokee 4.0l automatic tranny along with the serpentine belt and all that goes with it but it still wont keep a charge. When it first died on me it was slow and then finally just lost all power. My friend that was there checked the connectors all was good but still no life, he gave me a jump start and it turned over then he took it off the cables and was messing around the little black box on the passenger side just tapped it a little and the battery gauge and radio lights ect went to full power. my guy wont listen to me so i am trying to troubleshoot from what initially happened PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!! i am outta money and paitence

this little balck box there should be wires feeding it in the front maybe the connections loose

disconnect the battery and see if these connections are tight the two on the bottom disregard the arrow on the top of pic
