Plasti Dip Grill

I've played around with it on my logo on my car (before trying it on the jeep)...great fun for temp stuff, but if you're planning for something long term, don't expect it to last. It rubs off with your finger, and car washes will take it right off with the pressure. At least, that's been my experience with it.
It does look cool though.

I did my flares and it can be difficult to work with. All the sites selling the stuff make it look super easy and amazing. If its hot out it tends to dry in the air and create texture and with rattle cans it didnt come out even. It looks ok but I wont use the stuff again unless its something small. As fir durability it isnt as fragile as some people claim it just needs multiple coats 5+.

It works great but you have to do at least 3 heavy coats. It won't peel off unless you drive through thick brush or scrape against stuff. My bumpers turned out great. Won't chip like paint will on plastic. And yes I've been through car washes and it's still there.

Plasti dip works good if you actually prep right and do multiple coats. I did bumpers, grill, lower doors, and wheels on my old tahoe a few years ago, Even after wheeling, pressure washing, and every other daily use It still looked good 8+ months with no peals besides a spot where I got a big branch along the front bumper.

Given that cleaning and prep will be required for any kind of sprayed coating, I wonder why so many choose Plastidip spray over Krylon Fusion. If you're going to go to all that work, you might as well use something that's going to last. And in my area Plastidip spray costs about $3.50 more per can than Krylon Fusion.

Never had good luck with it, just not durable enough.
I prefer duplicolor or rustoleum bedliner, looks nice when done right and tougher than regular spray paint. I figured out a few tricks that really help with the aplication of it.

I'm with you guys, never understood the big deal about PlastiDip. If youre gonna go through all the prep there are much better products out there. And if the texture is the appeal then Rustoleum Undercoating has a similar texture and has been more durable for me.

The nice thing about plastidip is you can remove it if you don't like the way it turns out.
I found good prep and multiple coats will get you good results.

The prep is a lot easier than painting prep. I just wiped everything down with rubbing alcohol to remove the wax and dirt. You can spray the stuff right over chrome and clear coat. Then when you get tired of your murdered out rig you peel it off.

hmm well I had my wheels plastidipped, but after a while it started to peel. I heard good things about the rustoleum bedliner anyone use this on rims before? I wonder how it holds up and I like the look of it. Figured I might as well paint my rims black for good.
