I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff but every now and then when I turn you can here a very loud pop but can't figure out where exactly it's coming from. My jeep is lifted 3 inches and sitting on 31's I'm going to lift it again in the future and instead of just replacing stuff I'm wanting to upgrade it. I've been looking at the 1 ton steering upgrades but I don't know if I should go with a utk or otk and figured I would see what you guys would have to say

Default OTK!!

I have a Currie-link and would advise if you can do some welding I would go with a good over the knuckle steering system with a top mount track bar. The angle are much better than what you get on Under knuckle, putting less stress on everything. If I didn't get such a good price on my Currie system. I would have done the over the knuckle and some day if I can I will go with over the knuckle and a new track bar.

The pop could be anything from a track bar to ball joints to axle joint to uppers or lowers.

I would not assume it's in the steering sector without further inspection.

For that matter......check your frame at the steering box for cracks.

Bad bushings at the swaybar will pop too.

I would stay UTK unless you want to be modifying your track bar mount and making a new trackbar. For the money I would do Aresfab 1 ton TRE steering.

^ this one.

You have something loose and moving. Get under the car and look while someone turns the wheel.

If you are going big in the future, wait until you have picked your final front axle before puts a lot of time and money into steering.

You dont want heims in the steering, less than 5000 miles on the street and a few good wheeling trip and mine are already clunking. going back to tie rods once I do the wj swap.

If you do heims keep them oiled. I'd personally do TRE's because I'm lazy as hell.
