I am almost 6'4 and 255lbs, long legs and pretty big and wide in the chest/shoulders not belly and ***. (This sounds like a personal add....).

Anyway...
2000 XJ sport, 198K miles, 7K on fresh rebuilt engine.

Going to finally take the XJ on a long road trip, 2K+ round trip and I need to move my Drivers seat back about 3-4". It is OK stock for the few miles I drive back and forth to work and the occasional 250Mile roadtrip to Louisville and back to watch my son play football for UofL, but where it sits now, will be truly uncomfortable for my long trip.

Can I do this by removing the seat from the slide rails and drilling new holes, maybe adding to the slide channel? I am not too interested in being able to move the seat back and forth as I am the only one who drives it, besides my son who is a little taller but has about 50lbs on me.


Anyone ever done this with success or have any pics/tips they can share?
