Default Mirror swap fitment?

Did the 97+ mirror swap and there is a gap?.... Is this normal? What should I do to resolve it? Maybe fill it with silicon?

I swapped in 97+ on my 93, not perfect but tightened up pretty good. I have also read about some guys trimming with an razor blade to achieve a tight fit.

Specifically removing some of the stock rubber trim off the smokers window / vent. Unless there is something else going on, the new mirror slightly overlaps the edge of the rubber trim on the vent window. Like the others said, typically after tightening the 3 bolts, you should be able to massage the new windows in to a pretty good fit.
