Pretty sure they sell in pairs, you'd only need one. If you got the 8 ring and cut it in half.
I have 4 ring, .25 metal on top, no bump in tower (kinda noisy when the metals hit, would advise to keep stock bump in tower), 33's on a 3" lift.
I don't have anything inside to act as a final hard stop but next time I pull the cool off I will be sliding something in to guarantee I don't compress to far.

Should use hard plastic I might use steel or aluminum.
Inside hole is like 1.5" through the insert.
I switched from stock bump/pucks to these, so much softer.

I'm looking to do a cheap as possible LCG set up with my DD 89 XJ. Fenders and quarters are trimmed and rolled already. And I should have my new 31's siped and mounted sometime in the next week. Not looking for anything more than a 2 to 3 inch lift so these kit's were what I was looking at:

Just wondering what other parts I would need to add to the list.
Thanks guys and please understand I don't want to or need to do a full say 4.5 lift kit I don't wheel this thing that often I just want to keep the lift to a minimum but still have some decent flex.

I live in the North Eastern part of Washington state, mud holes like that on the trails are far and few....and if I question the depth of a hole I go around, LOL anyways the most off roading I see is trails and camping nothing to hard core. I'm just trying to get an idea of what other parts I'll need to do this.

If you see my post above the picture shows I'm cut and rolled already and yes it'll be either the 2" kit or the 3" I just need to know what else I should get or need for parts. Rims may come later but not right now. my 31's are going on my stock rims for now.

I'm not sure if this was asked yet. So here we go.
I just recently redid my rear pack from xj on xj to xj/s10 bastard pack. Sits at 3.5". So I'm gonna get the front up from 3" to 3.5". I also have an SYE already.
Anyway 1st question. I have IRO adjustable control arms. Are the considered short or mid arms?
Fenders are trimmed already. So we are good there.
As for shocks. If I got say bilstein 5100 shocks for like 4.5 inches of lift would that work?
I'm seriously thinking about going from 31" tires to 33s or maybe even 35s once everything else I want to do is done and I can regear and get lockers. Its not gonna be a trail only rig. Basically a DD that I can take off roading. Which happened a lot before it went into temporary retirement.
I guess for my set up from peoples experience what should I do? When I bought my Cherokee it was stock height with 31s. Now I want to do more of a low cog then 3" lift with 31s.

anyway. the best way to measure shocks is to take off all your shocks, flex out your jeep to the max, then take some measurements. then talk to frank at seriousoffroad for which 5100's to order. get the 33's and regear then trade/sell/upgrade and get some 35's if you feel the need
most importantly, I know this thread is full of great tech and low cog dreams. but you're not going to have a true "low cog" rig. ever. just run whatever height is comfortable and whatever fits. my interpretation of the whole thread is that he want's you to understand that you don't need 7" of lift to get "mad flex." that is all. you can run a 4.5" lift and use the same amount of suspension travel.
so quit overthinking the suspension. you (and 90% of the people who read this and think they want a lowcog rig) have got a LONG way to go before your jeep is comparable to KTM's. then even a longer ways to go before your jeep can be built into a true lowcog rig. having a short lift does NOT = lowcog
