Default JCR OFFROAD Slider Install

Hey All,

Who is running the JCR sliders? Question on the install. The pinch seem bracket isn't centered, so did you install with the bracket more to the front or the rear?

My pinch seam was crushed and dented before my install. I only got one or two bolts through the pinch seam on each side. So what I did to offset that issue was to install u-bolts around the bars that run from the slider bar to the frame. These u-bolts go through the floor and have large back plates. Solid.

Sorry, didn't answer your question. I mounted mine with about equal spacing between the tires. Just a little forward of that so the rear mounting plate buts up against where the double frame starts. Let me know if you want a pic of this and I'll take one.

To the front, You did see on the sliders a weld bead that looks like an(F)right? the F go to the front of jeep. I ran the pinch seem bracket on the front of the seem more to the front

Thanks! Totally missed those weld letters! Glad it's toward the front because me drivers side rear weld seam is crushed.

That pro tip saved me a lot of headache! Thanks! I have a problem with my weld seams though. It seems like they arent long enough to get them drilled for the bracket holes. Gonna take another crack at her tomorrow.

Aha! I might go this route because my weld seam is mostly too short to reach the bracket!

Welp, the drivers side slider is on. made some additional holes in my weld seam, but used an impact driver and a tapered bit and it cut through like butter! Got 4 of the 5 bolts on the weld seam, and the thing is tight! Handle my 200+ lbs without a groan.

The rustoleum bed line I used is already showing some nicks just from the install...not happy with the lack of toughness there. I used about a can and a half on each slider, so I thought I had plenty of coats on them,

I'm about to buy a set of these. How are they holding up? Any pics of them installed?

I've dropped down off of rocks many times with the weight of the Cherokee bottoming out on my jcr sliders many times. These sliders do there job, sure there are lots of scratches, dings and bare metal patches but sliders aren't made to make your Cherokee look good. My doors still open and close. Installation is a fun project, enjoy.
The sill damage that you can see in the pic was inflicted before the jcr sliders were installed.

Got the passenger side on today(kinda). Simply can not get the front high enough to bolt onto the weld seam. Tried all kinda leverage and it just ain't happening. So, got two of the five on, and all of the frame self threading bolts except two I stripped. Next is the fab shop to get these suckers welded on!

Found a great tip on another site...bolt up the pinch seams first, then worry about the twisting and manipulating the brackets that bolt to the frame. Gonna try that next weekend.
