Hey guys, I was just wondering what y'all thought about this: so my 2 door 93 cheeroke already has the 'bb' lift with bigger shackles and a 2" puck up front. But my 33's rub like crazy, I can't even turn all the way.
So my idea is one of the following:
-what.would happen if I made myself s 3" puck for each side up front and got longer shackles?
-what would happen if I used zj coils with the 2" pucks I have now and got longer shackles?
-what would happen if I did the last option ^^ but used Dakota leaf spring package? (I think its the Dakotas that people use right?)

So let me hear your opinions an suggestions, thanks guys!

the Zj coils will get you 1in so with your pucks will be 3" (this is what i plan on doing)
as for the rear go get yourself a leaf pack from the junk yard and add in the main leaf (with the eyes cut off) to your leaf pack and keep your shackles and see how it fits. Add or remove leafs to get the height you want I read somewhere that a main leaf from another XJ pack with the eyes cut off will get you about 2 inches. so with your shackles and take into account some settling you will be at about 3 or 3.5 ish

You could stack 2 spacers in the front & AAL's or bastard pack in the rear.

My TJ had stacked spacers & I had zero problems on or off road.

Don't forget shocks.

heres a question. what are they rubbing on? control arms? fender? bumper? if its control arms you make need a better backspacing rim or some wheel spacers to push the tire out some. some aftermarket control arms are better than stock and wont let tire rub. if its fender then trim it up some. if its bumper take the end caps off

People talk about stacking the GC spacers,whats the diff?

I wheeled that TJ pretty good with NO issues & I bet if there was a problem with stacked spacers they would have shown up while offroading.

I have a 6.5" lift which consists of 3.5" RE super flex coil springs and a Rocky Road Outfitters 3" poly coil spacers from there BB kit which in fact are a 2" poly spacer and a 1" poly spacer that you stack on top of each other to net the 3" desired BB lift. And I have been running these STACKED coil spacers on and offroad for over 3 years now with NO PROBLEMS at all. So don't know where you get off saying its a horrible idea.

running stacked spacers is fine as long as you dont have enough travel to let the coil become unseated at droop. now when i say fine I dont mean recommended but it will work. when you have a ton of droop and the coil comes unseated then the stacked spacers may not go back together right when you cycle the suspension

That's what limitation straps are for. Test out your flex before going wheeling find out how far your axel needs to droop before the spring becomes uset and set your limitation straps accordingly. Pretty simple really.

Either that, or what about the possibility of making the 2 spacers 1? Spacers are just hard rubber right? Im not sure what they are, never had a whole lot of experience with them. But couldn't you attach them together??? IE screwing them together, or epoxy??? Don't beat me up about it, I don't know enough about the spacer

X2 the pucks will wear away after A while. Just spend the money and get a real lift. Don't go ghetto, people get hurt with ghetto.

I know people wont agree but I like to go all the way homemade. I'm not say'in glue your spacers but think stronger than store bought... mine is 1/4in tube, more of a drop mount than a spacer. guaranteed to out last the frame and stronger than any store bought spacer.... btw after I made that pitmin arm in the back ground I stopped bending them too. and a homemade long arm pic. I trust the lift so much I'm boltin rockwells right up to it. I will miss the looks I got drive'n it on the road, but going down to a 4in dd/wheeler.

figure some pipe, home made coil spacer and home made steel blocks on the rear, and I would still have the same ride, but a little taller, I like the way you did some thing like that, was looking for anyone that did that, cool I am not crazy
