Default Hole rusted thru frame

I got a large hole on the passenger side of the frame, right where my leaf springs attach. Would welding on sleeves do any good? Im thinking the hole length of the underbody. Or should i just buy a new jeep?

Imagine how much rust is there you don't see..scary.depends on how committed you are to that jeep and your skills and patience.

Ouch. Well, the leaf spring bracket itself sort of looks like it might be salvageable, but you'll definitely have to build a new frame box around it. It would be doable, it depends on what effort you want to put into it. It would take some good welding and fab skills to make it work.

Looks pretty bad, if that's the only spot then you might be able to salvage it but if there's more (highly likely) than it could be a daunting job.

BTW your leaf spring looks like it has a broken leaf.

Really? which pic do you see the broken leaf in? i haven't noticed at all. And yeah that's the only spot and were talking about welding 1/4" steel over the whole thing.

Both pics. One leaf looks super crooked and then I see something hanging down from the leaf pack on the other. Could be wrong but it just looks odd.

That leaf definitely doesn't look too good...and you'll want to cut out the rusty stuff before welding new in there for sure...
