Will a np242 off a 95 jeep cherokee country fit my 94 jeep cherokee non country in place of my np231?
Simple question. Hopefully simple answers?

Yes. You will probably need the linkage and shift gate from the 242

I have those. Im just not sure if the tail housings are the same length

Direct bolt in and your shifter will be fine and the linkage may need adjusting but you won't know till it's in. Both t-cases use the same shifter.
The country is a trim package and is more about wheels and seats. Has nothing to do with drivetrain except the front springs are slightly taller.
