Front fender rub on 96 4 1/2" lift with 33x12.5x15
My driver side rubs at max turn I did the cut and fold and was told not to cut the jacking location behind the front tire I don't know why that is. can I cut it without adverse effects? furthermore why would it rub on only one side I cut both fenders the same? Thanks for the help in advance. just now I'm looking at it from behind and it seems to be leaning to the driver side on flat ground

I had this same problem! get some lower control arms that are either adjustable or just fit your lift - I bought mine from zone off-road for a 4.5" lift and they work perfectly. if your axle is that far back, it's gonna be tricky to put them on since your axle is that far back.

You asked for a cure for the problem and the correct one was given a new track bar a double shear would be best. That is what centers the differential from side to side for one thing. At 4 1/2" you need Adj. U/LCA's the lowers to center the differential in the wheel well and the uppers to set pinion angle. Be advised the upper CA mount on passenger side needs to be beefed up as it is weak from the factory.
I personally would not want to start bending on my suspension to force fit something when the correct parts can fix the problem very easy and properly. I guess you did install everything that is required for a 4 1/2" lift so you don't have other problems?

But to the OP, yes, if you did not get U/LCA's with your lift, atleast LCA's are a must, and most people on here will very highly recommend UCA's with a 4.5" lift.

You really need LCA's and a trackbar. No bending involved Fred, just using a ratchet strap to get the axle in place for the LCA's.

btw, any good recommendations for a cheap, reliable track bar? I'm out of money but need to get one for my XJ, however, I don't want to skimp out and order another one in the future.
