Fanned Leaf Springs - Please don't ignore my questions ty
Hi guys, This is behind my driver's side back seat. Wow sorry for the huge pictures. I know it has a lot of rust and dirt, I plan to wash under there, but california has laws. So, can this be why I hear a drivers side squeakie noise on turns up into the driveways? I guess I heard it for a while. Is this fixable? Or is this slight fanning or twisting gonna get worse? PS photos don't show the fanning like I hoped that they would. I can get more if you like to see it.

Still waiting for someone to help with an answer. Its like I just don't exist in these forums and why because I am female? Nor is this the first time I have gotten ignored on every single post just about?
A better shot of the problem and noises I hear coming from back there. You can see the twisting and can I keep driving it this way or not?

I had a the same problem with my skyjacker leaf packs. Loosen up your u bolts beat the springs strait with a hammer and re tighten your u bolts really tight. That should get it done.

I also had Skyjacker soft-ride leaf springs that did the same thing. Beat them into submission with a wooden mallet after loosening u-bolts a bit.

My suggestion would to be use only a "Dead Blow" hammer for beating those back they are cheap and no metal flying around.
BTW I had no idea you were a female and had nothing to do with any answers given, or not at any time.

These guys are spot on though, loosen u-bolts tap back into place. Tighten like hell. Then get better spring clamps. The clamps that have a small bolt through the top.

Does it seem to anyone else like there's too much gap between the U-bolts? Am I just seeing things? Going out to look at mine...
Edit: disregard previous, mine are the same way.

fanned springs
Thank you for all your help, finally (sigh) but I will go and fix them up probably tomorrow as today has gotten late. If it happens again, I was wondering if I could weld them perhaps? Another thing is I noticed that they are flat flat flat and shouldnt they be curved upwards even a little bit? just curious. thanks again
Oh one last thing, not sure should i jack it up some to relieve the pressure in order to beat them in? wasn't quite sure.

Welding your springs will ruin them. If your springs are flat and you don't have a lot of extra weight like huge bumper/tire carrier your springs may be worn out.

Straightening them out is easy but I doubt it will fix your noise. I would buy some lithium grease and lube up the bushings. The squeaking noise could be anything though- there are a bunch of moving parts. Have someone jump on the rear bumper a few times while you are laying under there. See if you can pin-point it.
